Bill introduced in Parliament to allow more than one lump sum claim

Injured workers would be able to top up lump sum compensation payments under proposed legislation that aims to override a recent Supreme Court of Appeal decision.

Shadow attorney-general Paul Lynch has introduced a bill to NSW Parliament to enable injured workers whose condition deteriorates over time to make more than one claim for a lump sum payment.

The bill has been adjourned for further debate at a later date not yet set.

If the bill is successful this will allow workers to return and claim an increase in lump sum compensation for WPI if there condition deteriorates.
